The Jerry Evans School of Music is looking for a friendly, responsible, and organized individual with integrity to join its staff as an Office Manager.


Our mission is to be an excellent, high caliber, cutting edge music school that creates a musical culture in our community that helps students achieve their passions and dreams in music.

Our focus is bigger than only music lessons. We have a desire to make a lasting impact on the community, the lives of our students, and our culture. We are looking for people who align with that mission to join our team.

Located in downtown Wheaton, The Jerry Evans School of Music is a rapidly growing school that has 240-300 weekly students. We provide private music lessons and group classes for a wide range of instruments and styles including pop, rock, country, blues, jazz, and classical.

The Opportunity:

The ideal candidate is very friendly, adaptable, quick, accurate, has previous administrative experience, and is self-motivated. They will be eager to provide outstanding customer service and create a warm and friendly environment to our students and their parents. The new office manager will work 6 days/week, Monday-Saturday.

Job Requirements:​

  • Creating a warm and friendly environment for students and parents

  • Responding to and following up with inquiries from potential clients

  • Reception work (Handling incoming calls and emails, and recording payments)

  • Managing files and records

  • Managing school lesson calendar

  • Organizing and participating in marketing events

  • Serving as the personal assistant to the director

  • Completing tasks related to the salon owned by the director

  • Periodic cleaning and snow removal

Experience:​

  • Office Manager: 2 years

  • Sales: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Customer service: 1 years (Preferred)

  • Administrative: 2 years (Preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

Qualifications and Skills:​

  • Four-year college degree (preferred)

  • Administrative experience (required)

  • Sales and/or service experience (preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, Google Suite, CRM Technologies

  • Clear and articulate verbal and written communication

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask

Benefits:​

  • Healthcare after 3 months

Additional Details:​

Hourly rates, $19/hour plus sales commission for new student enrolment. Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

 

Starting pay with hours and estimated commission starts around $38,000 per year as a W-2 employee. Healthcare benefits are included, after 3 months.
