Celebrate Easter, Celebrate Spring Returns with New Time and More Fun!
Wheaton, Il, February 19, 2019 – The Downtown Wheaton Association (DWA) is gearing up for Spring with their annual Celebrate Easter, Celebrate Spring event on Saturday, April 13, 2019. The event will take place at a new time this year, 2:00pm to 4:30pm and will offer some new, exciting activities. Children and parents alike can look forward to the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bonnet Contest as well as a visit from the Easter Bunny himself! New this year will be the Easter Bunny’s Train Rides and a special performance by Miss Jamie’s Farm! The event takes place at Memorial Park in Downtown Wheaton from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.
The highlight of the day begins at 2:00pm with an Easter Egg Hunt featuring 5,000 candy-filled eggs. Children of all ages are welcome to attend, and the park will be divided into age appropriate areas. Returning to the event this year: find the Golden Egg and receive a $5.00 Downtown Wheaton Association Gift Certificate. Six Golden Eggs will be hidden amongst the trees in Memorial Park. Find one and receive a $5 Downtown Wheaton Association gift certificate!
Immediately following the Easter Egg Hunt, boys and girls between the ages of 0 and 12 can show off their artistry in the Easter Bonnet Contest taking place at the band shell in Memorial Park. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, artistic and original homemade designs in each age group.
New this year, the Easter Bunny will be offering rides on his fun trackless Easter Bunny Train for children of all ages. Enjoy a trip around Memorial Park. Rides are complimentary and will run from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.
Also new s a special Spring show by Miss Jamie’s Farm, a fun and educational music show taking place at the band shell in Memorial Park at 3:00pm. Young kids and their families will enjoy singing, dancing, laughing and learning with Miss Jamie and her farm puppet friends.
And, of course, the Easter Bunny himself will be available for pictures with his admirers from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. Participation in Celebrate Easter, Celebrate Spring is FREE to the public.
