Downtown Wheaton: Where You Want to Be
Do you want to expand your business? Perhaps, now is the right time to consider opening a second or a third location. If so, Historic Downtown Wheaton is where you want to be.
Why is Downtown Wheaton a great location? First, we continue to trend upward with new businesses opening every year. Our long-standing restaurants and shops are experiencing an influx of new residents and visitors.
Surrounding the downtown are three luxury apartment complexes that boast a 95% occupancy rate and over 1200 residential units. Wheaton College is also steps away from the heart of the downtown with a student population of 2400.
The newly completed multimillion-dollar streetscape along Front Street has resulted in an inviting and very walkable downtown. Current improvements to Hale and Wesley Streets will be completed this fall; adding to the welcoming charm of our downtown.
The residents of Wheaton are great supporters of their downtown. From walking their dogs to pushing baby strollers, the residents of Wheaton fill its streets with activity. Contributing to this vibrant downtown, the Downtown Wheaton Association plays host to over 20 community events ranging from Friday night classic car shows in the summer to wine walks.
The City also supports its downtown by providing financial support for new downtown businesses. Two city grants for exterior and interior improvements are available. Many of our existing downtown businesses have utilized these grants; resulting in updated interiors and attractive signage and awnings.
The Downtown Wheaton Association also has a $45,000 marketing budget that is dedicated to supporting promotional events and advertising campaigns designed to drive customer traffic into the downtown.
The Downtown Wheaton Association extends a special invitation to you to visit our downtown. We would welcome the opportunity to schedule a time to meet for coffee or an informal lunch at one of our many downtown coffee shops and restaurants. Come and see the retail spaces currently available and learn more of how our organization can help you expand your business footprint in the western suburbs.
