Volunteers are the Key

The DWA has several working committees that work to promote the development and expansion of business within Wheaton's Downtown. Whatever your interest, we have a committee for you!

• Design Committee: Works with the City and shares the common goal - To revitalize the downtown by enhancing the economic viability while at the same time preserving the beauty and character of downtown Wheaton.
  • Committee meets as needed.
•  Economic Restructuring: ERC is continually searching for ways to recruit new business towards downtown, while assisting with existing businesses as they look towards expansion.
  • Committee meets the third Wednesday of every month at Noon, City Hall - Gammon Room.
• Marketing and Promotions: Committee promotes the downtown business district through image advertising, media campaigns and special events planning.  It markets our downtown as "The premiere place to be".
  • Marketing:  Guide to Downtown Wheaton, Calendar of Events, Downtown Bookmark, Image Marketing and Advertising
  • Special Events: Vintage Rides, Annual Black Tie Gala, Wheaton Fine Art Fair, Holiday Open House, Dickens of a Christmas
  • Committee meets the third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m., DWA office.
• Parking and Traffic: Addresses's the issues and concerns of parking and traffic in the downtown Wheaton Business District.  This committee works closely with the City to ensure a safe and friendly downtown.
  • Committee meets the fourth Thursday of every month at Noon, DWA office.
