What can patrons expect when they visit Paper House?

Whether a customer needs a gift idea for a lifelong best friend or a coworker, they immediately turn to Paper House, aptly called, “Your hometown shop for cards and gifts.” In 2008, we moved the store to a more open location and added food products, more beautiful jewelry, ladies accessories, and numerous other creative gift ideas. With more room, my enthusiastic staff can now merchandise to their hearts' content. I am truly proud that Paper House was chosen to be the 2009 Business of the Year by the Downtown Wheaton Association.

What's your favorite item you sell?

Two of our favorite additions are Kameleon Jewelry and SwitchFlops, both based on the notion of change. Kameleon allows you to take a sterling silver ring, pendant, or earrings and change the “Jewel Pop” to match your outfit or your mood. The Jewel Pops come in a vast array of colors and materials. SwitchFlops work the same, just with flip flops. Remove one set of Velcro straps and put on another to create a whole new pair of shoes.

What makes Paper House a unique part of Downtown Wheaton?

Paper House has been in downtown Wheaton for more than 35 years. Paper House’s key to success has been its willingness to change in order to meet the needs and wants of its customers. Long ago, Paper House had Western Union service and sold newspapers. At one time, it was the place for brides-to-be to register for Pfaltzgraff dinnerware. Today, you can find toys for your Internet savvy children, have semi-custom invitations printed quickly on-site, or carry on your family traditions by adding to your collections of Department 56 villages or Byers’ Choice carolers.
